The DOS menu files provide a means of operating Trakmate and saving the Laptimes and Summary files in an organized manner. The menu really helps when multiple races are being run. The menu files include a set of files for the HOPRA double bracket system as well as menus that were developed for the classes raced in the NITRO series (Stock, Fray, JL and Pro T-jet).
The menu files add a feature that Trakmate has lacked since its inception and completes the DOS versions of the software. Unfortunately, the “save-as” feature is still not included in the latest DOS versions of Trakmate.
When a race is selected the files start and run Trackmate. Following the race, when Trakmate is exited, the menu file takes over and saves the file to the specified sub directory and prints the SUMMARY.TXT file.
The files are stored in a self-executing file that are set to unzip the files to a floppy disk. The default directory can be changed to store the files directly to C:\MENU if your Trakmate PC has Windows installed. Once unzipped the 00-READ-ME-FIRST.TXT file contained in the MENU directory contains information that will help you get the files installed and up and running in short order.
If the Trakmate PC is on a DOS only PC, familiarity with the DOS COPY, MAKE DIRECTORY and EDIT functions is required to install the files and rename the Trakmate executable as required by the menu files. The menu files were designed for use with the DOS versions of Trakmate. While not tested, the menus may also work with the Trakmate Windows version.
